the wrapping paper was signed in front of her...she brought him a gift because it was after his birthday, but was the bicentennial year and he was "into that" you know. It was a book about religious flags used from the history of the world and he was excited to get it she said...she caught him outside the hotel as he was going in-her husband worked there and she was allowed to be in the hallway. He kissed her and hugged her, lifting her off the floor he was very pleased with the book. He signed the wrapping paper because she asked him to...he asked 3 times how to spell her name-but didn't get it quite correct but close enough- it was Marceita (Mark-eita).
(Later on someone "got rid of that book" or "took it" and he couldn't find it -boy was he angry...at least he got to read some of it.)
